Google AdWords goes A/V

#audio  #TV

It's finally here - Google Adwords have introduced (to beta invite users only in the US only) TV advertising from within the Google Adwords interface. This is on the tail-end of Google announcing on their official 'Inside AdWords' blog that they've integrated Google Audio Ads into Google Analytics, allowing users of the Audio ad platform to track all relevant KPI's from within their GA account.

Reported by marketingvox and according to Pinny Cohen, Google's new TV ad platform will allow users to upload or mail 15, 30, 45 or 60 second TV spots to their GAW account.

According to marketingvox, measurement tools for Google TV Ads include:n

  • Impressions shown and estimations of how many people are watching a given spot
  • CPM rate selection to bid against other ads in your sector
  • National, local or demographic campaign options
  • Ad scheduling (time, day, network)
  • schedule ads based on day, time, and network.
  • Average length of impressions
  • At what point in the ad a "bounce," or departure from the ad, occurs

As for Google Audio + Analytics, according to Google they've been hard at work, trying to
create integrated reporting tools so advertisers can more easily track the impact and the resulting ROI of their Audio Ads campaigns. We're very excited to announce that these tools are now available to AdWords and Analytics customers.

This obviously adds a whole new dimension to Google's already-famous advertising platform, and is surely another step towards global domination.

The only things I'm curious about?

  • Overall picture quality - web/YouTube quality is far below normal terrestrial TV quality
  • The overall bidding structure - I'll be very interested to see a better screenshot and get more info on the pricing structure
  • Just how effective Google Audio ads actually are! Anyone used it yet, plus stats?
